Privacy Policy
Last Updated: September 1, 2026
1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how the official public instance of the Kit Discord bot ("Kit", "the bot", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects data when you interact with its features.
2. Data We Collect
Kit collects only the information required to provide and maintain its functionality.
- Discord Identifiers: User IDs, server (guild) IDs, and channel IDs used to associate interactions, settings, and stored data with the correct Discord user, server, or channel.
- Interaction Data: Information generated through Kit’s commands, including persistent interaction counters between users, Love Match results, and similar command-related statistics.
- Server Configuration: Server-specific settings, including commands enabled or disabled through Kit’s disable and enable systems and other supported configuration options.
- User Authorization Data: Discord user IDs and related authorization state required for supported user-installed commands and interactions outside of servers.
- Operational Statistics: Aggregate information such as the number of commands executed, servers using Kit, users interacting with Kit, authorized users, and similar statistics displayed through features such as botinfo.
Kit does not store general Discord message content. Message content may be temporarily processed when necessary to recognize and execute a command, but it is not retained as part of Kit’s persistent data.
Kit does not intentionally collect email addresses, IP addresses, payment information, or other personal information outside of the Discord information required to operate its features.
3. How We Use the Data
Data collected by Kit is used solely to provide, maintain, and improve the bot’s functionality. This includes:
- Processing roleplay, reaction, and other commands;
- Maintaining persistent interaction counters;
- Saving server-specific settings and command restrictions;
- Supporting user-installed Discord commands;
- Displaying aggregate usage statistics;
- Diagnosing errors, bugs, and operational issues; and
- Maintaining the security and reliability of the service.
We do not use collected data for advertising and do not sell or rent user data.
4. Third-Party Services
Kit interacts with third-party services where necessary to provide its functionality.
Reaction GIFs may be retrieved from third-party providers such as Gifukai and nekos.best. Kit requests media from these services but does not intentionally send Discord user IDs, server IDs, channel IDs, or stored interaction data to them.
Kit also operates through Discord’s API. Information processed through Discord remains subject to Discord’s own privacy practices and policies.
Kit’s infrastructure and stored data may be processed in Frankfurt, Germany solely for the purpose of hosting and operating the service.
Information may also be disclosed where required to comply with applicable law, regulation, court order, or another valid legal request.
5. Data Retention
Server-related data may be retained for as long as Kit operates within that server.
When Kit is removed from a server, data associated specifically with that server will be deleted within a reasonable period.
User-related information, such as interaction counters or authorization data, may remain while necessary to provide Kit’s features unless a valid deletion request is submitted.
Certain information may be retained for longer where required by applicable law or where reasonably necessary for security, abuse prevention, or legal obligations.
6. Your Control and Data Deletion Rights
Users may request deletion of data associated with their Discord user ID.
Server owners and administrators may request deletion of data associated with their Discord server.
Data deletion requests can be submitted through the Kit support server. Requests will be processed within a reasonable timeframe, except where retention is required by law or another legitimate legal obligation.
Depending on your location, applicable privacy law may provide additional rights regarding access, correction, deletion, restriction, or portability of your personal data.
7. Children’s Privacy
Kit is intended for users who meet Discord’s minimum age requirements.
Kit does not knowingly collect data from individuals who are not permitted to use Discord under Discord’s Terms of Service or applicable local law.
If we become aware that data has been collected from an ineligible user, we may take reasonable steps to remove that information.
8. Data Security
We implement reasonable technical and administrative measures to protect stored data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
However, no method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure. While reasonable precautions are taken to protect information handled by Kit, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Users should avoid submitting sensitive personal, financial, authentication, or other confidential information through interactions with Kit.
9. Official Instance
This Privacy Policy applies only to the official public instance of Kit operated by us.
If Kit’s source code or a modified version of the bot is independently hosted by another person or organization, that instance is responsible for providing its own privacy policy and complying with applicable data protection requirements.
10. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We reserve the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time.
The date of the most recent update will be displayed at the top of this page. Material changes may also be announced through the Kit support server or another appropriate communication channel.
Continued use of Kit after an updated Privacy Policy takes effect constitutes acknowledgement of the revised policy.
